Descendants of the Rev. Rufus Hawley were joined by representatives of the West Avon Cemetery Association, members of the Avon Historical Society and author/Town Historian, (Nora Howard) for the installation of a replacement gravestone crafted by Architectural Restoration specialist, Randall R. Nelson.
John H. Miller (a 5th great grandson of Rufus via Zerah Hawley) was accompanied by his wife Catherine (also of Southbury) and their daughter Amanda Richards (a 6th great granddaughter of Rufus). Thanks go to Avon Resident Dick Rulon for stewarding this project.
